HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD FOR AN ALBERTA PENSION PLAN!
In 2020, Alberta's government commissioned LifeWorks, an independent third-party pension expert, to review the potential for an Alberta Pension Plan. Their analysis found many benefits for Albertans.
An asset transfer of over $300 billion from the Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) to an Alberta Pension Plan (APP) would mean a more stable and secure pension for Albertans. Of course, Alberta could start and do this without waiting for the asset transfer.
Alberta's young working population and more jobs with higher wages has resulted in Albertans over-contributing approximately $60 billion into the Canadian Pension Plan (CPP), compared to the benefits given back to Albertans. And Alberta still over contributes $3 Billion per year.
Albertans could save over $5 billion in just the first year by moving from the CPP to an APP.
Alberta's government would work with partners to develop agreements to allow Albertans to move throughout Canada and Internationally without impacting their pension benefits.
We could keep the CPP Investment Board to manage the Pension Plan, or we could have another management company do it. Something important to remember is the Pension Plan must be the same or better to have it move to a Province. You will not be in danger of losing your Pension, despite what some groups are trying to tell you.
These savings could be used to save Alberta workers up to $1,425 every year.
An APP could reduce the premiums businesses pay by up to $1,425 per employee.
These savings could increase each senior's monthly pension payment, or even provide a large bonus payment for seniors at retirement.
However, the first step is to initiate a referendum on the Pension Plan and have the Alberta government get the money back into Alberta. Once it’s here, Albertans can decide how the Pension would work and how it would be much better than what we currently have with a CPP.
Our goal is to collect 270,000 names and contact information and present it to our Alberta provincial government and initiate a referendum on an Alberta Pension Plan.
We aren't affiliated with any political party or lobbyist group.
We rely on DONATIONS and VOLUNTEERS to get our message of an Alberta Pension Plan out en masse.

270,000 is a lot!
Of anything!
But if you divide it up into digestible chunks, it's not so bad.
Consider this...
There are 87 constituents in Alberta.
If we had a leader in each constituency and they found 10 volunteers to go out and collect names and contact info, then
87 x 10 = 870 volunteers
270,000 names ÷ 870 = 310 names each
(ok, technically 310.344, so 311 names)
And what if each of those 10 found 10 more volunteers to help. Then it would only be 31 names each.
Quite manageable, isn't it? You could do that in a weekend.
If you think so, too, please sign up as a volunteer.
